NOTE:
The multipurpose camera unit must be re-aimed if the multipurpose camera unit or windshield is removed or replaced. The LKAS and ACC indicators (amber) will blink if the aiming process is not completed correctly. If any DTC is indicated, do the indicated DTC's troubleshooting first. If the DTC is not repaired, you cannot complete the multipurpose camera aiming procedure:

?
Dynamic Camera Aiming Incomplete: DTC B2A60-52
?
Static Camera Aiming Incomplete: DTC B2A60-54

Cautions for the operation environment:

?
Multipurpose camera aiming should be done on a flat place.
?
To aim the multipurpose camera, you need the following amount of open space in front of the vehicle: 7 m (23 ft) measured from the front bumper, 4 m (13 ft) wide, and 1.5 m (4.9 ft) height.
?
Make sure the vehicle is not facing any direct light source, as this will affect the static camera aiming.
?
Make sure there are no black and white checkered, or dark and light alternating patterns directly behind the targets as this will affect the static camera aiming.

Set up the vehicle:

?
Aiming the multipurpose camera requires the HDS.
?
Do not put any objects on the instrument panel.
?
Remove the all cargo from the vehicle except the tool kit.
?
Make sure that there are no stains, dust or dirt on the lens of the multipurpose camera unit, and the windshield area where the camera is mounted.
?
Make sure that all doors are closed.
?
Make sure the suspension has not been modified.
?
Make sure all the tire sizes are correct and that their pressure is correct.
?
Make sure the fuel tank is full.
?
Make sure the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead, and do not turn it after setting the vehicle.
?
Shift the transmission to P position, and apply the parking brake.

When marking on the floor, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.

2. Multipurpose Camera - Static Camera Aim

Marking of the Target Position

1.
Measure and make a mark (Z1) in front of the vehicle 6,000 mm (236.22 in) from the center of the front wheels.

Special Tools Set-Up, Target Pattern Surface Height Adjustment, and Positioning:

2.
Set-up the target.

?1.
Install the stand pole (A) onto the stand (B).

NOTE: The stand pole 1,000 mm (39.37 in) is too low to align the multipurpose camera, and cannot be used for this procedure. You must use stand pole 07AAK-5K0A120.

?2.
Route the cord through the collar and place it on the aiming stand.

?3.
Install the attachment bracket (C) onto the stand pole.

?4.
Assemble the target holders (D).

3.
Install the target holder assemblies onto the attachment bracket (one on each side), with the target mounting holes (A) facing toward the vehicle.

NOTE: Make sure the horizontal poles are fully seated against the attachment bracket.

4.
Install the targets onto the horizontal poles.

5.
Check the height (950 mm (37.40 in)) of all three targets at the center mark (A). The center target should be the same height as the outer targets. If necessary, adjust the center target by moving the target adjuster up or down on the stand pole to match the heights of the outer targets.

6.
Place the aiming target assembly on the mark (Z1).

NOTE:
Make sure the target vertical poles (C) on the line (D).

Choose the Setting Value of the Multipurpose Camera Height:

7.
Measure the right and left front wheel arch height "H1" from the ground to the center of the wheel arch.

8.
Calculate the average value of the front wheel arch height "H2".

9.
Subtract the front wheel arch height standard value of 776 mm (30.55 in)*1, 786 mm (30.94 in)*2 "H3" from the average value of "H2".

*1: 2WD
*2: AWD

10.
Choose the setting value number (the multipurpose camera unit height setting value for the HDS) based on the calculation made from H2 minus H3 from the table below.

Setting value number
"H3" with ? or ? numerical value from the standard value
(1)
More than ?5 mm (0.20 in) to ?15 mm (0.59 in) or less
(2)
More than ?5 mm (0.20 in) to less than ?5 mm (0.20 in)
(3)
More than ?15 mm (0.59 in) to less than ?5 mm (0.20 in)
(4)
More than ?25 mm (0.98 in) to less than ?15 mm (0.59 in)
(5)
More than ?35 mm (1.38 in) to less than ?25 mm (0.98 in)

NOTE: The HDS uses this number when choosing the multipurpose camera unit height setting value.

Example

The front wheel arch height measurement value ''H1''
: Right front wheel arch height 775 mm (30.51 in)
: Left front wheel arch height 772 mm (30.39 in)
The front wheel arch height average value ''H2''
: (775 mm (30.51 in)?772 mm (30.39 in))/2=773.5 mm (30.45 in)
The difference between the measured value and the standard value "H3"
: 773.5 mm (30.45 in)?776 mm (30.55 in)(standard value) =?2.5 mm (?0.09 in)

The setting value number which corresponds to the numerical value (2).

NOTE: If the measured value exceeds ?15.0 mm (0.591 in) or ?35.0 mm (1.378 in), the multipurpose camera aiming will not work. Check for frame/suspension damage or modification.

11.
Apply the parking brake.

If the aiming has failed or is aborted, you must start the static camera aiming procedure again.

13.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and turn the headlights off.
