Shift Lever Disassembly and Reassembly
1. Shift Lever - Exploded View

NOTE: Do not wipe off the grease that is applied to the portion of the shift lever marked with an asterisk () when you disassemble or assemble it because a special grease is used.

NOTE:
Refer to the Exploded View as needed during the following procedure.
The park pin switch and the A/T gear position indicator panel light/shift lock solenoid harness are not available separately from the shift lever/shift cable bracket; replace the park pin switch, the A/T gear position indicator panel light/shift lock solenoid harness, and the shift lever/shift cable bracket as an assembly.

2. Shift Lever Knob/Shift Lever Ring Assembly - Remove
NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it.


3. Shift Lever Ring - Remove
NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it.


4. Shift Lever Knob - Remove
NOTE:
Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble it.
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1.
Remove the shift lever knob cover.
2.
Remove the shift lever knob cover (A).
3.
Remove the shift lever knob button (B) and the button spring (C).

5. A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel Assembly - Remove
1.
Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light socket (A).
2.
Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel light bulb (B).
3.
Unhook the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness (C) from the harness guide.
4.
Remove the A/T gear position indicator panel assembly (D) by expanding the four lock tabs (E).

6. Select Lever Cover - Remove

7. Shift Lock Release and Release Spring - Remove
1.
Remove the shift lock release (A) and the release spring (B) by pressing the lock tab (C).

8. Shift Lock Solenoid - Remove
NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it.
1.
Pull the shift lock solenoid (A) out by releasing the lock tab (B) using a screwdriver.
2.
Remove the shift lock solenoid (A).
NOTE: The shift lock solenoid consists of the solenoid (B), the solenoid plunger (C), and the plunger spring (D).
3.
Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector (E).

9. Shift Lock Stop/Shift Lock Stop Cushion - Remove
NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*) when you disassemble or assemble it.


10. All Removed Parts - Install
1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View when reassembling the shift lever.
