Is DTC B0001-13 or B0002-13 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.?
2.
Driver's airbag inflator check:

Driver's airbag inflator check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.
Remove the access panel (A) from the steering wheel, then disconnect the driver's airbag inflator 4P connector (B) on the cable reel harness.


?4.
Connect the terminals of SRS simulator lead J to the SRS inflator simulator (2 ? connectors), then connect SRS simulator lead J to the driver's airbag inflator 4P connector on the cable reel harness.

?5.
Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.

?7.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

Is DTC B0001-13 or B0002-13 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
Open in the driver's airbag first inflator; replace the driver's airbag, then clear the DTC.?

Cable reel check:

Cable reel check

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

Disconnect cable reel connector B (4P) on the dashboard wire harness.


?5.
Connect the terminals of SRS simulator lead J to the SRS inflator simulator (2 ? connectors), then connect SRS simulator lead J to cable reel connector B (4P) on the dashboard wire harness.

Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.

?8.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

Is DTC B0001-13 or B0002-13 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
     
NO
     
     
     
Open in the cable reel; replace the cable reel, then clear the DTC.?

Open wire check (LA1?, LA1?, LA2?, LA2? lines):

Open wire check (LA1?, LA1?, LA2?, LA2? lines)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P)

?4.
Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead J. Do not disconnect SRS simulator lead J from cable reel connector B (4P) on the dashboard wire harness.

?5.
Measure the resistance of the test points.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Driver's airbag inflator 4P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected
Cable reel connector B (4P) (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
Cable reel connector B (4P) (on the dashboard wire harness): connected to SRS simulator lead J
Test point
SRS simulator lead J black terminal

Test point
SRS simulator lead J red terminal


Is there 1.0 ? or less?

     
YES
     
     
     
The LA1?, LA1?, LA2?, and LA1?wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Open in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.?
