Remove the bolts (A).

Detach the clip (A), and release the pins (B) of the clips (C) from the grommets (D) on the tailgate.

Remove the rear license trim (E).

NOTE: The clip grommets will stay on the tailgate.

Remove the clip grommets (A) from the tailgate.

NOTE: If the clip pins and the clip grommets are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them as an assembly with new ones.

Install the clip grommets into the clip pins on the rear license trim.
