Relay Circuit Board Removal, Installation, and Test

Relay Circuit Board - Remove
1.
Remove the cover (A).
2.
Remove the relay circuit board (B) from the under-hood fuse/relay box.
3.
Disconnect the connectors.

All Removed Parts - Install
1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Relay Circuit Board - Test
Relay Circuit Board Test
The relay circuit board is part of the under-hood fuse/relay box, and it contains these relays:
Lighting relay 1
Lighting relay 2
Taillight relay
Washer main relay
Windshield wiper high/low relay
Windshield wiper intermittent relay
Windshield wiper main relay

If any of these relay circuit fails the test, replace the relay circuit board.
2.
Test each relay circuit as shown:
Lighting Relay 1
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal B9 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminal B8, and body ground is connected to terminal B6. There should be no voltage at terminal B9 when terminal B6 is disconnected.
Lighting Relay 2
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal B2 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminal B7, and body ground is connected to terminal B6. There should be no voltage at terminal B2 when terminal B6 is disconnected.
Taillight Relay
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal A2 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminal A8, and body ground is connected to terminal A1. There should be no voltage at terminal A2 when terminal A1 is disconnected.
Washer Motor Main Relay
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal B3 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminal B4 and B10, and body ground is connected to terminal B5. There should be no voltage at terminal B3 when terminal B5 is disconnected.
Windshield Wiper Intermittent Relay
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal A12 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminals A16 and A9, and body ground is connected to terminals B1 and A6. There should be no voltage at terminal A12 when terminal A6 is disconnected.
Windshield Wiper High/Low Relay
There should be 12 volt battery voltage at terminal A13 when 12 volt battery power is connected to terminals A16 and A9, and body ground is connected to terminals B1, A3, and A6. There should be no voltage at terminal A13 when terminal A3 is disconnected.
