Receiver/Dryer Desiccant Removal and Installation
NOTE: Install the dryer desiccant as quickly as possible to prevent the system from absorbing moisture from the air.
1.
A/C Condenser - Remove
2.
Dryer Desiccant - Remove
1.
Remove the cap (A) and the O-ring (B).
2.
Remove the dryer desiccant (C).
3.
All Removed Parts - Install
1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
Install the dryer desiccant as quickly as possible to prevent the system from absorbing moisture from the air.
If you are installing a new dryer desiccant,
add the appropriate refrigerant oil for the A/C compressor which installed to the vehicle
.
New O-rings should be used at each fitting. Prior to installation,
apply a thin coat of the same refrigerant oil used in the A/C compressor
. Be sure to use the correct O-rings for HFC-134a (R-134a) to avoid leakage.
Install the cap to the specified torque. It is made of plastic and can be easily stripped.
