3. Steering Lock - Remove

Without keyless access

With keyless access
1.
Center-punch both of the two shear bolts (A).
2.
Drill their heads off with a 5.0 mm (0.20 in) drill bit. Be careful not to damage the steering lock when removing the shear bolts.
NOTE: The shear bolts have left-hand threads.
3.
Remove the steering lock (B).

1. Steering Lock - Install

Without keyless access

With keyless access
1.
Install the steering lock (A).
2.
Loosely tighten new shear bolts (B).
NOTE: The shear bolts have left-hand threads.
3.
Without keyless access system: Insert the ignition key, and check for proper operation of the steering wheel lock and that the ignition key turns freely.
4.
Tighten the shear bolts (A) until the hex heads (B) twist off.
NOTE: The shear bolts have left-hand threads.
